Between technology and image

Photographer, IT person, Berliner. The mix of rigorous thinking and free creativity is the core of my work.

Where I come from

Everyone realises themselves through personal interests and their own talents and passions. Joy and challenge are my goals on the way to the results I want.

Since childhood I have sought out creative experiences. It started with music (guitar, piano and drums) and with nature and floristry. Some of that has stayed with me to this day, but photography has taken – and still takes – the largest part.

The combination of rigorous thinking in my IT profession on one side and free, inner creativity in visual work on the other is the centre of my life. It is precisely this intense contrast that drives my work, my hobbies and my views.

Digital and film photography mirror that contrast for me. Working in both worlds requires either a classic, calm approach or a technical, modern one – including developing my own negatives or editing digitally. Both need a feeling for the subject.

Many influences in my childhood gave me my own way of looking at nature and at the beauty of things in detail. That is why I also spent a year and a half studying make-up and styling in depth – which made it increasingly interesting to realise goals in a truly subject-oriented way, and much easier to communicate concrete ideas to the team.

My favourite subjects often go hand in hand with my hobbies: mountaineering, sailing, hiking, animals, swimming, flea markets, scene and city life and much more.
